Sahaita organized a medical camp at the Gurdwara in Modesto. This event was free and open to everyone.

Sahaita inc. held a Health awareness clinic at the premises of Gurdwara Sahib in Modesto-ceres, California. We saw close to 100 Patients and screened them for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and obesity problems. Healthcare staff including the Physicians, Pharmacist and Nutritionist were there to guide them and make them aware of changes in lifestyle and diet. Most common problem was High blood pressure and diabetes was also major problem. The growing need of the health problem solutions and uninsured elders is a concern. It is our feeling that bad food choices and lack of physical work is also leading to growing obesity among Indians which few years ago was not a problem. Sahaita’s board is very appreciative of all the support provided by Young volunteers who traveled such long distances to make the clinic go smoothly.
