Sahaita Foundation which is the Canadian Branch of Sahaita Inc. organized its second fundraiser at the Ravi Banquet hall in Surrey, Canada on Sunday the 8th of july,2007. This function was very well attended and appreciated. Program started with recital of a Shabad by S.Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal and S. Jabhal accompanied him on Tabla. Dr. Jogi was the stage coordinator. This was followed by speech from Dr. Harkesh Singh Sandhu regarding the organization and its purpose. S. Kashmir Singh Gill from Milpitas, California presented a very motivational speech. One of the heighlights of the evening was a declarartion by the youngest member of sahaita Nikki Noor that her company Noor Chemicals in Amritsar when it starts production all the profits she will like to donate to the poor, orphans and homeless people in India. Such a big commitment coming from her small mouth was very touching and acknowledgement by her that sahaita will do its best to make a difference in society.

Mr. Harpal Singh Harika who is the treasurer of the Sahaita inc. did the power point presentation explaining all the accomplishment of this young organization.The cultural show started with breathtaking Giddha by girls from Punjab arts cultural association and UBC girl’s Bhangra presentation . They had expressed their desire to perform at this function and it was great to see these young kids having interest in doing charity show. This was followed by one of sahaita’s great supporter Debi Makhsuspuri who is well known for his great songs in Punjabi. He recited a song he wrote for Surinder kaur who was the Punjabi singing queen but never lived long enough to hear it. He was followed by an artsist who can only hear but not see the audience and wanted to perform at this program when he learned what we do is give hope and gift vision to hundreds of poor and needy. Jagpreet Bajwa is 14 years old and he lost his eyes as toddler due to cancer but has such great voice and all his songs touched the audience. He wished sahaita good luck and prayed that we could raise 100000 dollars. Jagpreet donated to sahaita all the money he was given by attendes appreciating his talent.

One of the guest star’s was daughter of Indian consular in Vancouver, Reene Chandra and she sang two songs with her melodious voice.She was followed by a little kid Mr. Hardeep Virk a very enthusiastic child with beautiful voice. Then Mr. Harpal Harika presented his own illustration Kee Sifat karan Punjab dee which was greatly appreciated by everyone.He follwed it with his second presentation and finished with another of his song of Gurdas Mann. Dr. Jogi thanked the audience and had his chance to sing his song at the end. We are very thankful to all those who came and encouraged us with love,affection,money and above all their blessings.
