Sahaita foundation of Canada held its third annual fundraiser at the Grand Taj Banquet Hall in Surrey, Canada on the 18th of July, 2008. Nearly 500 hundred people packed this hall and enjoyed the whole program. Sahaita foundation team of Dr. Jogi, Paramjit Sanghera, Hardep Gill, M P Singh and Gurmeet dhaliwal worked very hard for the success of this event. Radio Red fm 93.1 and Channel M broadcast the message and live interviews with team members which proved very helpful and we are very thankful to both these media oulets for this act of kindness. Program started with a Shabad by S. Gurmeet singh dhaliwal. After Dr. Upninderjit Singh ( Dr. Jogi) welcomed everyone to this event Little Virk boy sang a wonderful number “ Boot palish” of Gurdass mann’s album. Dr. Rajinder Singh did presentations on Bal Bhawan (gift of hope which is $ 13 per month) and healthcare power point presentation ( Gift of Vision and health, $ 75 per eye surgery). Inspirational speeches by S. Gurmeet singh dhaliwal and S. Gurnam singh mehra were very much appreciated by the gathering and they assured public that what Sahaita does is real and they should donate for Sahaita’s causes. There was a a dance by Nikki and her friend and watching these little girls and another girls team dance were part of good effort. A Choerography by a local Academy was professionally performed and Like last year Jagpreet bajwa was special performer and sang beautifully and he like Virk donated all the money to Sahaita. A 50/50 raffle was also held and ticket was drawn which happened to be winning number and a little girl Gurmehar kaur won it. Gurmehar donated her share of $600 to Sahaita and coming from such a small kid this was the best thing that happened this day. M P Singh on behalf of Sahaita organization thanked all the public who came to join this three hour program and listened to the speakers patiently. Sahaita foundation is active participant in the medical camps in India and locally in Canada. Four of the medical camps in India in October are sponsored by donor’s from Canada. All the Sahaita members are very thankful to everyone who participated in the event and for donating money for the causes. We assure all our donor’s that we will never let them down and the funds collected will be utilized very wisely .
