Students Rohit Sharma, Suneet Kaur Gosal and Krupa Roy from University of California, Davis worked on their project of helping a Non profit. They chose gift of vision as their mission and went to Sikh Temple, West Sacramento, California. They were very dedicated to the task and worked hard and raised $800 at their fundraising. These funds have been donated to Sahaita organization for its Gift of Vision program. Sahaita organization is very appreciative of their effort and help. We are thankful to these students and the faculty member who helped them for such a noble act and, choosing a great cause. We know how much those poor patients who get the gift of vision appreciate such kindness. The rewards of this program are visible within few hours. This money is being used to help the young kids as we feel they benefit the most as they have whole life ahead of them.

Sahaita's Appeal

The word 'Sahaita' is used in both Hindi and Punjabi language. The literal meaning of "Sahaita" is "to help" or "to support".

Every now and then somewhere in this world, human beings suffer due to man made, or natural disasters. In the third world countries, everyday, poor children and elderly struggle for basic survival, food, health, and education. The number of destitute children and elderly people is on the rise as economic stresses increase day by day.

We the members of Sahaita appeal to the fortunate among us to wholeheartedly help the unfortunate among us.

Our Vision

"That the children in our society are happy, healthy and well educated That the elderly in our society can live with dignity and self-respect”

Our Mission

"Hold and support a frail hand; Bring smile on an innocent sad face; Afford dignity to the less fortunate”

Sahaita's motto
"A good deed is the most rewarding and satisfying act."
